Striving for the Faith

Garden City church of Christ

Welcome

Welcome

We are striving locally and autonomously to be in every way the church that God sent His Son to establish, the church you can read about in the Bible. We are striving to preserve the unity of the Spirit that God granted us in our salvation as we have been told in Ephesians 4:1-3.

The Gospel of the Kingdom

February 25, 2024
In Matthew chapter 4, Jesus went about teaching the gospel of the kingdom. It’s easy to miss the nature of what Jesus focused His teaching on. In this lesson, we consider the qualities of a kingdom and how those qualities exist in Jesus’ kingdom. This lesson focuses on how any kingdom has government, community, resources and, oftentimes, an enemy.
It can be easy to take for sin for granted — not just in its consequence but in understanding what it truly is. In this lesson, we try to understand how God calls sin things that always deceive, defile, divide and destroy.
In this lesson, we consider the way Paul appealed to the Corinthians to correct sin in their church & to reconcile with one who repents as a result of that correction. Part of a series in the book of 2 Corinthians.
In this lesson, we consider how to practically apply Jesus’ teaching in Luke chapter 6, and how these applications demand that we dig deep into our faith.
In this lesson, we consider how to practically apply Jesus’ teaching in Luke chapter 6. Jesus gives radical instructions that challenge how you and I think about and treat others, especially when we’re wronged and mistreated.
In Luke chapter 6, Jesus teaches a sermon that He says is the foundation for His disciples. In this lesson, we consider lessons from the first part of Jesus’ sermon where He pronounces blessings and woes that radically challenge our values.
What does the Bible say baptism’s purpose is? In this lesson, we answer this question in Colossians chapter 2 and consider how this passage helps us to better appreciate what God does in baptism, and also equips us to talk to others who do not believe or understand that baptism is essential for salvation.
The first lesson in a series through the book of 2 Corinthians.
Part of a series on the devil's schemes. Satan works to pull apart local congregations, and we must be alert to defend against him.
